Gouacharelle: I designed for you a palette of five raw colors, extracted from the depths of the earth. No mixing, just meticulous work on each rock to reveal its texture and richness on paper.

Far from standardized synthetic pigments, each shade has its own character, a testament to the diversity of our soils.

Venetian red is powdery. Bauxite is friable. Red ochre is opaque and covering. Green earth, fluid and light. Malachite is adorned with a shimmering veil that fades over time to give way to a matte and luminous color.

Each paint has its own personality, to be tamed to bring out all its richness. A true immersion in the heart of the earth.

The pigments used in detail:

Malachite:

Semi-precious stone bought second-hand and hand-ground.

Green earth:

Brentonico clay from Italy.

Bauxite:

Stone harvested in Les Baux-de-Provence. Hand-ground.

Venice:

Venetian red from Italy.

Red ochre:

Roussillon ochre

How to use Gouacharelle paint?

Gouacharelle is used like any dry watercolor. The best method is to put a good drop of water on the paint, wait a bit for it to re-activate, and rub gently with a brush.

Gouacharelle can also be used more opaquely, like gouache. For this, place a good drop of water on the paint, wait 2 to 5 minutes, and rub with the brush, longer than with classic watercolor.

(Note: green earth cannot be used as gouache; it is very transparent)

The binder is always 100% plant-based and natural.
